Making a mouse

I was wondering how computer mouses(mice? meese? ) were made. I dont expect anyone here to take the time and effort to give me a full explanation of it, but was more hoping someone could point me towards a good book or website that I could read, I'd be interested in making my own someday. When I google search the subject I seem to only come across ways to add a new shell to an already existing mouse to make it look cooler.

What in the world does that have to do with building a mouse from scratch?

The main thing is, that you would waste lot of time to make proper working mouse. The dart tip will not math aim ( you would not click/choose easy enough, as with standard ).
