can anyone help to explain PHP

Well i am a newbie in hacking and i am testing my skills on this siteshttp://www.hulla-balloo.com/hack/level3/index.php . Well i was able to get through level one and two but three is somehow difficult for me.
I know i need some idea on PHP. please help me is simple english or refer me to a site that can help me. thanks
