$325? Even though that processor...well..sucks, it still costs like $180. And that video card, $80. The RAM and hard drive, $80. + Windows XP Pro, $140.

63083, you have to factor in depreciation. You can get much better processors for $180 now...plus, a new E7400 is only $120, so it's worth less than that. I'd say probably 60 or 80 bucks tops. The graphics card is worth almost nill. I can get an 8400GS for $25 new, so it's worth less than that. The RAM is 533, so it's basically unwanted for any newer system...even my old 6400 system had ddr2-800 in it! So I'd say RAM is <$15. The hard drive is maybe worth $35 to $40, since a new 320GB is $50. Card reader isn't worth much, not in that system anyways..maybe $5. And the same for the DVD burner..only 16x..probably IDE, so maybe worth $10 since a new 24x only runs about $23-25. MB is probably generic..probably a crappy intel chipset of somesort...we'll give it the edge and say it's worth $35. We won't factor in the case. Add all that up and you end up with ~$175-200. That's probably more than it's "technically" worth (using depreciation of 2%/week). But, hey, it's all what someone would pay for it. You could probably charge $300-$350 and someone would buy it.

EDIT: Didn't really factor in the XP pro. I wouldn't use the full value anyways, there's only 2 gigs of ram in there, it's not like pro is way better than home or anything. so you may tack on $50-60 bucks for that since Vista is now getting the spot on most newer comps. You're still way under $400 IMHO....WAY under. I'd try $350 and go from there. See if you can strike a deal with your friend.

Hi Guys,

Thanks for your suggestions. He is asking for $550. But I am going to get him down to $300.

let see how it goes. I will update you on this.
