Crucial showed off their upcoming SATA 3.0 (6Gbps) drive and the time has come for it to launch and hit the retail shelves. In fact, this drive has been around for a while and we are certainly not the first to the punch when it comes to reviewing this unit. What makes this drive stand out is that it is priced very similar to SATA 2.0 (3Gbps) drives and it packs in more performance and therefore, more bang for the buck. You simply can't afford not to buy this 128GB drive with a MSRP of $399USD when I am offering it for $175!

If you're looking for unhindered speed, Crucial's RealSSD™ C300 is here! The new 2.5-inch Crucial RealSSD C300 drive offers mobile and desktop users scorching-fast read speeds of up to 355MB/s. And because it has no moving parts, you will also enjoy a quieter, cooler, and more durable storage solution –and a better alternative to a traditional notebook hard drive

Memory Experts
The Crucial brand of memory has long been synonymous with reliability and high-performance. Our expertise in NAND process technology enables us to optimize the performance and durability of Crucial solid-state drives.

Guaranteed compatible
Crucial RealSSD C300 series employ a standard hard drive interface and dimensions, so it is an easy storage upgrade for most notebooks.

Designed for Windows® 7
Because our C300 SSD supports the Trim command and identifies itself as an SSD to the OS, it takes advantage of the SSD optimization features built into Windows® 7. It's a small, but important, differentiation because SSDs manage data differently than a rotating hard drive. After Windows 7 knows it's working with an SSD, the OS configures itself to optimize performance by canceling useless hard disk-focused tasks like defrag. The Trim command functions like an SSD clean-up utility, enabling the SSD to free up blocks occupied by deleted files, increasing write speeds and stretching drive endurance.
Our RealSSD™ C300 drives are designed to bring performance and portability to laptops and other computing applications. Because they take advantage of the SATA 6 Gb/s interface—with backward compatibility to SATA 3 Gb/s—they deliver blistering read and write speeds, helping improve boot and application load times. But even on SATA 3 Gb/s systems, the C300 drives still outperform other SSDs on the market and leave traditional hard drives in the dust. In fact, based on PCMark® Vantage scores, our C300 drives are nearly 14 times faster than standard hard drives, and they weigh less, consume less power, and are more durable.

No need to update the firmware or anything on it. It already has the best firmware on it and no other version that Micron is going to release to the public is any better (Being in IT I know how us IT guys think!). This is also a slightly different (and better) model than standard consumer versions as it has 2 DRAM chips instead of just 1 like the current cheaper-to-produce consumer models have. Hence the "engineering sample" label on it. The C300 series has now been qualified and bug tested. As far as your SSD, it will be seen as any other C300 SSD in your operating system, it was just made with more care. Also make sure if you reformat the drive to do it under Windows7 as Win7 understands SSD's by default and will automatically align the partition to an optimal 4K alignment or uses a utility that will do the alignment.

I accept paypal (add 3% for fees) or USPS money order. I often sell as zrxtrazoom on ebay and have a 100% positive feedback for fair prices and fair description.
