OK my dad has a windows 98 (yeah i know it old) well he was defraging the computer and it was at 10 percent and it froze so he turned it off from the bottom. When he turned it back on it would turn on some of the files are corrupt or missing. So i tried to go to safe mode still doesn't work. The problem is we don't have a windows 98 cd. But the bigger problem is all of my dads business work is on it all of his files. What should we do?

Two things

#1: Take the hard drive out of the PC, than put it in a new PC and copy the files to a new PC.

#2: Use a bootable linux CD (Such as knoppix) and boot off of this in the broken computers, and than copy all the files to a USB hard drive or network share.
