and probably the most common on the internet, although it is mostly used just to down a website instead of a way to open a door to gain entry.

Its a money making technique, they threaten companies into paying, if they don't, they initiate a DoS attack and then their servers are offline, just like that, causing them to lose thousands if not more ...

I'd say making a threat for $ wouldn't get you anywhere with a company. If anything it would just end up getting you busted.

The reason DoS attacks have spiked is because of Windows. Everyone can thank Microsoft for including raw sockets for NO FREAKIN' REASON...

Mac OS X, Linux, the BSD variants offer raw sockets and yet they haven't become the wasp nest of spambots, worms and spyware that infest so many Windows boxes

this update should take care of the raw socket issue

but not everyone wants to kill raw sockets.

SQL injections are very common, they are easy to find and easy to initiate.
