Default Trouble blocking Myspace.com

Hi, I hope this is the right section..

System: Windows XP Pro, IE7

I have this kid at work that always likes to use my computer because its "the best one". After several times of me telling him to get off he still uses it when I'm not around. I tried editing the c:\windows\system32\drivers\etc\host file to reflect this, but after shutting down all the application and restarting windows (twice) It wont work.. Sites are still vewable.

I have also tried adding www.myspace.com to the IE7 Tools\Internet Options\security\restriced sites section.. WTF gives.. Aside from slapping this kid on the back of the head, what am I doing wrong here??

Based on my limited understanding of how this particular config file is set up, you need to change your second line to 127.0.0.1 computerforums.org. That way, when someone types computerforums.org into the address bar it tells the web browser to connect to 127.0.0.1 which is your local machine.

This is just a name resolution file.
You set it up so computerforums.org correctly points at the server. You need to change the number to 127.0.0.1 so computerforums.org incorrectly points to your own computer.

Alright, so I changed it to 127 whatever and I accidently opened FireFox to try it, and it's worked.. it says that the site cannot be found or whatever.. and to check I went to google and other stuff..

But I opened IE and when I put in computerforums.org it takes me to live search and I click on a link there and it lets me through to the site....
