I have an HP desktop that I love that is getting a bit old (it's 2 or 3 yrs old now) and it is getting a bit sluggish in it's old age.

Anyone have any tips, tricks, software suggestions, etc that can help clean it out, get rid of any viruses/spyware, get old and partially uninstalled software off and all that?

when was the last time you formatted and reinstalled the OS?
i suggest doing it atleast once a year if possible.
www.ccleaner.com will remove junk files and also un needed stuff in the registry. its a good place to start.
oh, you do defragment regularly dont you?

Format and reinstall? Never that I know of. How can I do this without removing everything on the drive as I take all the junk off and how can I not put all the junk that comes with an OS (trial junk and stuff) back on?

I'll try ccleaner.

I'm a defrag-fiend...lol

Thanks!!!
