Sweetheart that's what I did. Formatted the drive and installed Vista so she could use it till the win7 disc's got here. The owner had ordered a couple of copies of win7. She took the pro version and had me put that on that laptop. It came with win7 but having to format the drive took out the recovery partition and she did not make the recovery disc's.
So after the win7 disc's got here I did a re-certify format and test. Passed with minor errors. Then loaded the win7 pro OS and works like a charm. Only driver I had to load was for the wireless card. Did all of the 200 and something windows updates and runs fine. We're putting NOD32 on it sometime in the future but for right now I have AVG on it. Better than nothing I guess.
She threw down some rules for the kid getting online. She has to have one of them sitting right there, watching. That'll get old quick...
