Default startup problems

This is my first post, so hello. I've got a strange problem with my machine. Sometimes, not always--perhaps one in three times attempted, my machine will activate with my Symantec security DISABLED. Shut it off and start again, and it is ENABLED. My first thoughts were to malware, but I've scanned it sixteen ways from sideways and I cannot find any intruders. Any thoughts on this folks? Why does it not fire everytime?

Default Re: startup problems

Thanks for the osmotic effect. After reading through various other solutions to other problems here in the ether, my personal ether cleared and I was able to rectify my own difficulty. Thanks again. :>)
