Or could someone look out for a code for the sims online for free for me

All CD Keys you will find on the internet will already have been registered on the internet and so you won't be able to use them for that again - they're generally only used for the game which doesn't check the internet.

Maybe a cd-key generator could work...but I do not think they have one for The Sim's.

Nah - I don't think they do - and the chances of getting one which hasn't already been used or corresponds with an actual sold version is unlikely.
