Setting a 8.1 system AVG or Avast?

Having an Anti-Virus doesn't mean a thing if the end-user clicks a dodgy link and ignores a security prompt (which is what they seem to do anyway). Really you want a full AV with real-time protection and the full works in order to try and prevent the PC being infected.

As for the question, I think at the moment Avast is considered an overall better package (more in terms of system performance than actual protection).

I don't know about that lately a lot of people have been leaving Avast and I am a reseller for Emsisoft and the exodus in to Emsisoft by Avast Reps is amazing in the last 6 months according to our North American manager. It has to mean something and lately I have noticed sever system drag coming from Avast, drag I never used to see.
