Default inf virus

okay so i just had a weird phone call at my house
someone from india called saying that they were from my operating system provider
and that there was a virus sending info
they were calling to help us stop that
i didnt believe it from the beginning
so he had me open the run box and run
inf virus
it opened a window on my pc
then i hung up on them
what is the inf virus
it seems like they wanted me to infect my computer
as i read the command it read as: infect virus
i have NOD32 by ESET
if that virus really is on my PC how do i remove it
and what is it exactly
has anyone else had something similar to this?

If you think you can, you CAN! If you think you cant, your right.

.inf virus is a new kind of Trojan that can also refer as Autorun & autorun.inf virus. This virus enters through infected USB. Yes, many antivirus like Kaspersky, ESET NOD 32, AVAST, AVG, and many more can help you in removing this kind of Virus. However, the best way to remove this virus is by installing Autorun Virus Remover. It blocks the virus try to enter in your PC via USB.

Your antivirus should have detected and stopped it but if you have doubt just google for malwarebytes and download the free version, once done run the program as it will delete any malware that could be on your computer.

A good lesson here is never trust any one telephoning you stating you have a virus on your computer, they are all scams.
