Default host/client question

Hi -
I set up a my desktop as host and my laptop as client to access the internet. Will the host's anti virus, ad ware, etc. protection programs work for the client or do I still need separate protection for the client as well? In other words, is it enough to have protection on the gateway computer?

Thanks ....

You should have it on both computers, there are more ways than the internet to get viruses, eg floppy disc, flash drive etc

thanks for the reply ..... but .... it didn't, I believe, answer my question. Does the gateway computer's Norton Internet Security protect the client.

Thanks again ....
