Default firewall help

i was wounldering if there is any good firewalls but also free on the internet

sygate is also pretty good, but I prefer Zone Alarm.

I'd say go with Zone Alarm. Before we got a router I used it and never had a problem with it.

Zone Alarm is one of the most reputable, that's for sure. If you use it with Peer Guardian, you got good protection for traffic both ways.

McAfee Security Center has everything you need. Firewall,Antivirus,Spamblocker. I use it great program.

Not a Zone Alarm fan, as a DDOS attack on one of the ports ZA uses does cause it to shut down.

I would suggest a Router, if configured correctly acts as a firewall in itself, if your connected to the internet directly try Kerio or sygate firewall software for Windows.

Outpost Firewall is also a good firewall, and has both free and pro versions... I use the pro version however, and don't know what the protection levels are like in the free version.

i also suggest zone alarm. i used to use it before i upgraded to pro and it works great. blocks alot of stuff.
