excluding viruses

i have norton system works 2004.

when it says exclude on the virus scan that means it cant do anything aboout the virus and i am stuck to live with it?

You probably just have to go into safe mode and scan... it may be acting as a system file. also make sure to turn off system restore before you reboot to safe mode.

To get to safe mode press F8 while booting up...
To get to system restore right click on my computer and go to properties... there should be a system restore tab.

thanx but i hae already like excluded like 10 things. will i be able to scan and find them again?

yes, just turn off system restore and boot to safe mode and you will be able to find them again and most likely be able to remove them forever.

try ad-aware, microsoft antispyware, and trend micro free online virus scan if you are paranoid.

i have adaware...and one last question...o dang forgot...lemme remmeber...o ya y do i have to turn off system restore?

sorry for the late post... but YES you have to turn off system restore TEMPORARILY. If you didn't turn off system restore it would do exactly as it sounds when your virus/spyware whatever you have was removed.
