Do I have a virus or trojan?

Chuck, I did some research, and now believe that you should just forget about these patches for the time being. Chances are MS messed up [infoworld.com], and the patches will be re-offered ad nauseam until they fix it.

Thanks so much for this info, dale. Guess I should have googled the patch names.

I have experienced this same problem with my grandparents laptop running Vista Business (Vista what do you expect) and it would try to download and install the same update continuously. I don't think its happened for a while that I know of..

I run vista on my laptop & don't find any problems with the OS for updates.

It could the program software (MS Office) itself that is causing the problem.

This. Microsoft screwed up once again on Patch Tuesday.
