Cool data compress

hello every1
Im a new bee and I wanna know how to compress data like it was compressed on the win xp 8 in 1 cd.
Can anubody help me. Plz

Well, for data compression, I use the program Winzip. Check it out here: http://www.winzip.com/
It compresses data and you zip and unzip files easily. Is this what you were searching for? Hope it helps.

welcome to the forums WinZip is your best option ... jac006 if you are using the unregistered version on WinZip do you lose some of the compression?

no... there's some sort of trial version, but for some reason, mine didn't expire after 30 days or whatever. But you should try. windows has a built in file compression but it's not nearly as good as winzip. there's also winrar, another type of file compression. you can use that too.

WinXP does compress very well, compress data in WinZip on high and open it in Windows

Winzip isn't very good at compressing...

Well, I said that there's also winrar, unless you didn't read that part. Winzip is good for those everyday things but winrar is for the big bad 'uns, like when you want linux, it's in winrar format. yeah.
