Crossbrowser

I have stupidly got this on my laptop along with a lot of other crap.can anyone help mee get rid of it please. I have tried system restore,it didn't work and suggestEd running chkdsk whatever that is

I have started to run chkdsk but it seems to be stuck on 10% can anyone help please

Check your task tray by the clock to see if crossbrowser is running there, close it if it is.
Check your processes in Task Manager, close it there as well if you find it.

Check Add/Remove Programs in Control Panel, see if any of the malware has an uninstaller there. If so, run them.

Install malwarebytes and run a scan. Remove any traces that it finds.

I'd also recommend checking for any browser addons. Settings > Extensions in Chrome, and Tools > Manage Addons in IE.

If at all possible, run the MBAM (Malwarebytes) in safe mode.

thanks for all the replies managed to get rid of most of the stuff....ran mbam a few times and did a system restore

Also give Adwcleaner a run, I've used it successfully before and its worked.
