I've used some software before that was a zip password cracker, it just rand trying every combination of letter/number/symbol starting at a and running through to 0000000000
a, b, c, .... A, B, ..... aa, ab, ac ......Pass, Past, Pasu .... Password
I stopped before it found the password... because it was going to take years to find the password. I just asked the person who made the Zip file to re-send the password.
The answer to your question however is no. there is no way to just open the archive without the password (that's rather the point.)
