Default Best OS for a hack/virus free environment

i have been told that linux is the best... What do you all think?

just get a mac or sumthin if ur so afraid of spyware or virus. mac sucks tho

go with vista havnt had any problems, and i ran it without a av or firewall for a week or so, til i could afford one.. but i didnt have any problems.. vista is good..

Linux and Mac for sure, but it's only a matter of time before viruses/spam/ and spyware make there way into these operating systems.

Windows is the most vulnerable because it's the most used OS, but if you know what your doing your computer can be protected.

That is soo, soo, soooo, true. The safest things to use are the ones that no one else uses. If no one uses it what is the point of writeing a virus for it or even trying to target anyone if theres no one there to target, thats why most people use firefox or some other form of browser rather than IE, unfortunatly heaps of people are starting to use firefox so you kinda see the pattern!
