The only really good hackers out there that i reamber are Knights of the virtual realm and that's about it. The "goons" more than likley made a lot of s**t up and are nothing but a bunch of little kids .
I think that if they took down the whole internet, I would laugh. Because it's not really that hard. Just rite an ubbr 1337 program that crashes a server as soon as it is detected.
