I actually don't really trust Windows Defender that much. For me its better to install third party app to make me feel lot safer.

It isn't the best AV out there. That's for sure.
But i can deal with virus myself. So for me it's good enough. But for the every day man, i'll recommend something better.

Windows Defender is bad. Get Avast or Bitdefender.

If it's acceptable or not, is a matter of opinion, I guess it depends on what you do online.

I mean, it's at the bottom of the list:

If you are serious about getting a good AV, Windows Defender is not a good option.

As I mention above that avast but now i Personally, I think the best free anti-virus is Bitdefender. You can download it here: Best Free Antivirus The only thing it doesn't have is live protection. Other than that if you run it regularly and watch out for the files your downloading you should be fine

I'm pretty sure Bitdefender has live protection. Unless it changed in the last few weeks...

You can disable it from the settings.

If you are serious about getting a good AV, Windows Defender is not a good option.

It's a baseline and really you can't protect yourself if you click on everything or download things like keygens.
