APB Reloaded is a nice free to play game. PLayed it some time ago, but it didn't run properly on my PC

It's something like GTA. It requires GamerFirst LIVE! client.

Yes, I would also recommend Team Fortress 2

World of Padman is a cartoony shooter game that's also free.
