Default WTB: 512mb DDR SDRAM, 128mb + video card, maybe a powersupply

I'm trying to get my Compaq S4100NX up to World of Warcraft standards so I can play the game with my wife. I'm not looking to build a serious gaming machine, I just want to be a little more capable. Right now my video drive's 32mb allocation of shared ram (512mb) is doing the job, but I want to smooth things out a little.

Thus, I'm looking for another 512mb stick of DDR SDRAM and I would like at least a 128mb dedicated PCI video card. If you guys think I need more than my 250w power supply to run it then I'll need one of those, too. I'm also on a budget...I really need to stay under the $100 mark.

Thanks in advance!

If you are in the United States, I suggest using newegg.com.

Here, I recommend this RAM: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16820134173

And this graphics card:
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16814161204

This leaves you with around 25 dollars below your spending limit. This is enough to buy this power supply:

I don't know if the PSU is needed, but I reccomend it as it will allow room for any other upgrades you are planning. The graphics card was pretty much the best I can find in your price range. It has 256 MB RAM. It is the least expensive 256 meg one, yet has a price comparable to the most expensive 128 MB one. The RAM is Kingston Technology. They supply excellent RAM. I have 2 gigs of it, and it runs like any RAM should.

So, total costs without shipping: 94 dollars.

How do I know when a bigger power supply is necessary? It's a modification I'd like to avoid if possible...I don't see myself making any more upgrades to this system.

It appears, that in this case, upgrading the PSU is your choice. It is something I would highly recommend though. 250W isn't much good for anything these days.

I think that graphics card can handle it, but I wouldn't chance it. So, it's your choice.

I have a decent graphics card, it's a ATi Radeon 9200pro 128MB. I also have 256MB PC3200 if you would be interested. PM me but I might not get back to you for a couple days.

Edit...

10 shipped for the ram.
25 shipped for the video card.

already got it covered...found a nvidia card that was compatible with my current powersupply and a 512 stick.

Thanks folks!

However, if anyone has a 300+ watt power supply they could part ways with for cheap I'd probably jump...
