It's been over 30 years since I've had a job where I got paid for overtime. Still had to work extra hours though, just didn't get paid anything extra for them.
About 10 years ago, someone in the same job position as me sued our employer about not getting paid for worked OT hours and won. I got a check for $25K from that class action suit and I didn't even have to prove that I worked the extra hours. I honestly don't think I worked anywhere near as many hours as the court assumed I did but I didn't complain.
The weird thing about that lawsuit is that the company didn't change their pay policy so I'm expecting someone else will file the same lawsuit, win again and maybe I'll get another check!
