That was kind of the point I was making. They are chasing competition that simply doesn't exist, and doing stupid things in the process.

Besides, a computer that can boot faster than I can make the coffee I want to sit down and work is a bit of a waste.

Yeah, if i turn my tv and computer on at the same time, the computer is already at the login screen when the tv starts to display things. It takes 15 seconds from clicking the restart button to the login in screen being back up. I don't think i need it much faster, but it sure is nice for those times when i have to restart to install something, or update my system.
