You haven't used it since that realease?

What I usually do is locate around 20Gb for the secondary Linux OSs. I don't use them much and that way they don't bother me at all.

I put Ubuntu 16.01 on the thrift store PC since it only have 1 gig mem. It really want at least 2 gigs.

It's really light and efficient. I installed it on a 8 year old PC with 3Gb of RAM and works really good. You can also try Xubuntu but Lubuntu is supposed to be faster.

Lubuntu is designed for systems with less than 1Gb, so you should be fine. Even with Xubuntu (designed for systems with 1Gb).
