Why won't my i3 box boot up?

From experience the CPU doesn't tend to simply die, normally it's static that has had an effect on the motherboard or RAM... soooo, try taking the RAM out, power it up and see if it POSTs correctly (assuming it has a buzzer integrated into the board you'll hear it beep). If it is POSTing correctly then I'd guess the RAM has given up the ghost...
