We are using some software for stock management in our shop. To overcome the issues of virus threats we decided to install Linux operating system in our shop. But the software is not compatible with Linux. So we are planning to develop an advanced RMS software for stock management and E-commerce integration. Here is an example https://multiflexrms.com/retail-management-system-2/rms-software . Can anybody tell me about the approximate cost and additional hardware support needed to develop such a system.

The best answer I can give is, shitloads.

It would be at least the same as developing software from scratch.

Not only that but. You still get viruses on Linux.

There are off the shelf stick management solution door Linux though, some webbased can integrate as online ordering platforms too with payment gateways etc as well as stock management...
You may do better to get one of those!

Why/how are you worried about viruses?
You might find it better to use the software you have, with devent firewalls, good AV. And perhaps no internet connection?
