recently bought 2 Kingston SSD so I can put them in Raid format later for my programs and OS. I just plugged them in to make sure neither was DOA but nothing is popping up. I tried restarting my computer as well but still nothing. I tried different cables and also tried them in a port that I already know works. Both of my current HDDs work fine and my storage HDD was simply plug and play like any other I've ever used. Is there something special I need to do since they are SSDs?

What do you mean they don't pop up? assuming the drives are 100% new, they need to be initialized and formatted before they appear within windows explorer/my computer.
