Connect 2 Ethernet cables

Hi guys I want to connect 2 Ethernet cables together and want to keep my network gigabit ,can you suggest a cheap connector that will work with cat 6 cables ? Thanks guys

You might just want to do a bit of research on the losses associated with ethernet connectors and couplers. I cannot remember what the figures are now and they are, possibly, not significant on a gigabit network. Even worth looking up IMO.
 
Yeh I have been looking up on them and they don't seem to slow the network down but I will keep looking

I don't have a spare switch, I am using a router at the moment setup as a switch but it is not gigabit so I want to just extend the cable

In that case the coupler is definitely the better option. It might technically decrease performance slightly compared to a longer cable but probably very negligible.
