Hello everyone I'm having a strange audio problem and I've never come across this before it seems to have started last night at Christmas when i updated my AMD drivers when the update message boxed popped up i had the update ticked as well as the audio box ticked for AMD Audio Driver Version 7.12.0.7723 I'm currently using a the Razer Kraken 7.1 Headset

anyway what seems to be happening is my headset becomes undiscovered or removed or at least my computer seems to think it has been removed. And so my headset turns off and on with a soft static like click every so often or when i try to play media on my computer it might be a problem with Razor itself as i recently got Razer Surround Pro this seems to be affected as well.

After looking on Device Manager whenever my headset turns off "Razer Kraken 7,1" under Sound,Video and game controllers disappears not exactly what that's about.

Sorry if the description is a somewhat vague I'm not entirely sure how to describe my problem all that well

I think my first response would be to remove the AMD drivers and revert back to the old drivers. maybe try a windows roll back to a point where everything was working. (Windows Restore).

Ok i tried to delete the AMD Audio Drivers no luck there i then tried to roll back to a previous point but the earliest one was post the AMD update so he still have this annoying problem

Okay then this could start to get messy. If you cannot roll back windows then it could be that you have picked something that has locked out your Windows recovery. There are programs that will enable you to, more easily, uninstall files. Personally I would use Ccleaner or Eraser. We now need to know what operating system you are using and what computer you have. Hopefully someone else will be along with a bit more knowledge to help out. I would also download Malwarebytes and use the free version to check and clean your system of any malware that might have got on.

I do use CCleaner and I'm downloading Malwarebytes now as for my computer...

Did a Malware scan it came up clean

EERRMM okay just what flavour of Windows you have and whether your computer is a laptop or a desktop would have doen LOL. Anyway as I say hopefully someone else may be able to help. Something is blocking your recovery points it seems and that is the easiest way to get back to a working pc.

In Windows 7 when you bring up the "system restore" box there is a box to tick to show more restore points. If that box isn't ticked it needs to be ticked. This is a page that explains how to get to system restore with pictures showing that tick box.

How To Use System Restore in Windows 7 [Easy, 5-10 Min]

As I have said if this does not work for whatever reason it could be quite difficult to sort your system out. Whatever you do you do need to get rid of the current audio drivers and possibly the audio program you are using completely ans reinstall everything. That sounds easy but stuff still gets left behind when using the windows uninstallers that is why I suggested Ccleaner or Eraser.

heh Then i use Windows 7 Prof 64bit and a desktop. I did tick the box that shows earlier restore points and the earliest was on the 25 about 11:40 am after trying it, it did not get rid of the AMD drivers

Well I assume that is the 25th December and I think your computer is a bit older than a couple of days. Windows does do automatic backups at various intervals usually when new software is installed so there should be previous restore points and it seems that you do not have them. I'm afraid that that is a classic sympton of some sort of nasty. Basically if your system restore points don't work then only something like Ccleaner is about your only hope. Virus's and Malware these days can be very very devious and it could that only a complete reinstall is the only way to go. I know that could be daunting but sometimes it is the only solution. As I keep saying hopefully before you get to that point someone else can help.

Hmm well i just uninstalled amd then reinstalled without the audio drivers no difference...it could be that there is a error with the Razer audio or that the actual wiring is damaged
