can you find a system restore point
Did you recently upgrade to Windows 8?

Listen to the beeps POST gives after you power on. Anything more than 1 beep look it up on the net via your laptop manufactures website.

I can't get in to the system at all is stuck at please wait
You don't have to enter Windows to choose a restore point.
You can get to it via the recovery. (i think it's called recovery. Like on Android)
When starting up the computer, you have to hit a certain F key when you see the posting screen (a screen that looks kinda like this: http://i.stack.imgur.com/yfGCk.jpg or http://en.community.dell.com/cfs-fi...5621.Dell_5F00_BIOS_5F00_boot_5F00_screen.jpg)
The F key should be ether F8 or F7.
You want to find this:
From here you can choose troubleshoot -> advanced options -> system restore.

Thanks for the suggestions but they don't work, do I assume the drive is dead? If so can I recover from it, please say yes I have about 3000 photos on there
