OS: Win 7...? Should I? -1st build

Updates get released for Win 8/8.1 every few week and as for Win 7 I think updates are still being made correct me if I am wrong..

I have not seen an update for either OS in months. And I check all the time...

@OP,
When Cynthia "TTM" got her laptop, we installed Win7 Pro right away. That is the only computer in this house (we have 3) to take damage that was hardware related. I love it, but OS choice is still yours. It really does depend on what you want done with it.
(No, I did not read all three pages of replys. I have no intention in getting into an OS argument.)

Really, the OP already said he wants Win 7. What his question was is very simple. Does it make sense to get win 7, because we do not know how long support will still be for it. The answer is simple. Yes it does makes sense, because if you remember, how long did it take for Microsoft to cut support for Windows XP? I believe there will still be support for 7 for a long time.
