Hello all,

I'm looking for some tips on upgrading my hard drive. I have a Dell XPS12 ultra book with a 100 gig solid state hard drive. My son has a XPS 12 as well with his hard drive being a small 60 gig. I would like to upgrade to larger hard drives in both machines but I'm not sure how to go about cloning or imaging (or whatever it's called) on to the new drives. I had done this a few times when I had Vista Ultimate. All I did was Create an image on to a large portable hard drive use the Vista ultimate installation disk to boot up and restore everything on to the new drive. I'm not sure on how to do it with Windows 8.1 and without an installation disk.

Can you guys help me out?
Thanks,

Get acronis true image. It has a cloning function. Copies everything from the source drive (your current drive) to the new drive. I'll be doing that to my laptop soon. Moving from an HDD to an SSD.

Agree.
You should also be able to use the same method you used when you had Vista.
But a personally use Acronis True Image as well.
