I don't know why they call it a laptop when you can't put it on your lap without the risk of over heating.

It sounds like the CPU is burned up. The devices will still power up but no response from the CPU thus no beep codes.

I agree. Think its time for a new laptop.

Thanks everyone. I've decided to go with the mobo being bad. This is a friends laptop. I will suggest she look at getting another laptop.

This is the right choice.
