Hello, I was recommended these specifications by another person as well as me putting together some of the parts like the case and cooler etc.
I'd just like to know before I order these parts, is this compatible, will my processor, gtx 980(when it is eventually released, or if i use the 780ti) will it fit on the motherboard? etc and the rams.. all of it basically.

Here it is:

I pretty solid build, however I will still recommend alterations. Not trying to be if you think I am. :)

Don't worry, I'm not going to go on some rant on how you don't need that BEAST of a PC. Not that type of person, it's entirely your choice what you build.

  • I would go with a higher quality PSU, gold certified is the sweet spot for high end systems. A good choice would be a XFX ProSeries 750W.
  • There is no real need for RAM over 1866mhz for most situations. It increases CAS LATENCY, and voltage. Neither of which is a good thing to have. I would get G.Skill Sniper Series 16GB.
  • I would definitely wait for the 900 Series to release. It's going to be worth it.
  • I would definitely get a different case. The 230T is not at all good for the price. I also would always recommend quality cases. There are a lot of great choices in the case market right now. The best ones are Cooler Master 690 III, NZXT H440, Phanteks Enthoo Pro, or a Fractal Design R4.
Those are the alterations I recommend. I hope you get your build finished! Also, of course have a great day/evening/night/morning. :)

Oh right okay no problem. I made a couple of changes however, what do you think about this now:

Processor: Intel Core i7-4790K 4.0GHz Quad-Core Processor

RAM: Also I went for this one instead dude like you said:

http://www.amazon.co.uk/G-Skill-Arb...0962531&sr=8-1&keywords=g+skill+sniper+series

But is it okay that there will be 4 ram sticks on all 4 ram slots?

Harddrive: Western Digital Caviar Black 1TB 3.5" 7200RPM Internal Hard Drive

Solid State Drive: Samsung 840 EVO 250GB 2.5" Solid State Drive

Opitcal Drive: Samsung SH-224DB/BEBE DVD/CD Writer

Motherboard: Gigabyte GA-Z97X-Gaming 5 ATX LGA1150 Motherboard

Power Supply: XFX PRO750W Core Edition 80+ Bronze ATX 750 Energy Star Certified Power Supply

Case: Corsair I really like this case here: http://www.amazon.co.uk/NZXT-Phanto...sr=8-1-fkmr1&keywords=NZXT+Phantom+410+Series

What is your opinion on this one? is it good, and will it fit, it seems to be good from what I've read and seen.

Video Card: NVIDIA GTX 980 (Don't worry I'll wait for the GTX 980 :), was just going to buy other components ready once confirmed)

Also because I can't edit my post I post again, um I really do love that NZXT H440 Mid Tower Chassis Cases, omg I literally am in love with it now that you've recommended it.

Do you think that this will be perfect: http://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B00I44EUAK/?tag=pcp0f-21

i look forward to your reply for both posts, sorry..

terminator123, ;)

Also, apprently I was told this RAM was decent as well.

G.Skill Ares Series 16GB (2 x 8GB) DDR3-1866 Memory (F3-1866C10D-16GAB) - PCPartPicker

If so then I may go with that as I will save some more money because it is cheaper.

Also instead of the XFS one, what do you think about this one:

EVGA 850W 80+ Gold Certified Fully-Modular ATX Power Supply

The XFS Gold from amazon takes from 1-2 months dispatch but yh.

also is my cpu cooler okay? as i really do not want water cooled.

I apologise truly for this! but I needed to add:

What do you think of the motherboard, it is quite expensive but do you think so I can lessen the price, any of these I can use and will be compatible and dcent:

this one: Gigabyte GA-Z97X-Gaming 5 ATX LGA1150 Motherboard
or this: ASRock Z97 EXTREME6 ATX LGA1150

I promise this shall be the last one until you reply (dam edit button).

It's fine, I like to help! :) It's perfectly fine to go with a different motherboard, however I would get Gigabyte or Asus still. I would get the Gigabyte GA-Z97X-Gaming 5 motherboard, it still has a great look to it, awesome overclocking and tons of other features.

Oh okay thanks :).
Awesome, I will go along with the gaming 5 motherboard then by Gigabyte.
I also picked the case you recommended, "NZXT H440 Mid Tower Chassis Cases". Looks amazing, and as you recommended it I'm assuming that all of my components should fit nicely, including my power supply.

Power supply: I can go with the Gold version that you mentioned, or I also mentioned about the EVGA Super NOVA 850W PC Power Supply - Gold?
Do you think that that power supply is decent too?

Ram - I was suggested by somebody else to go with 16GB-Kit G.Skill Ares PC3-14900U CL10-11-10-30, but i've just realised that it is basically the same price as the sniper aries that you mentioned.

This one here: http://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B009V52440/?tag=pcp0f-21

Do you think that wil also be perfect for my build too.

And last but not least, the CPU cooler, Like I said I'd prefer not to use watercooling, I would but to be honest I don't know much about it and I think it'll be easier for me to use air cooling.

So shall I go with the Enermax T40, or the Hyper 212 evo,

I look forward to your reply
