I remember my Acer Aspire SA85 had a Celeron and boy was it slow, I had two of them infact one was my Grandmothers and she was running XP and it was slow.

Any time you do an upgrade you need to figure your worst case current draw. I don't think the 550watt PSU is going to serve you well. Might want to look in to upgrading that. And please don't buy any cheap knock off garbage. Get a good one and have room for even more upgrades down the pike.

Agree to abouve. Newer go cheap on the psu! That will come back to haunt you pretty soon. It's like buying a sports car and then get an old Wolksvagen bubble engine for it.

Get one from a reknown brand like Corsair, Seasonic or OCZ for ex. A 750W will be pretty future proof.
