We were inventorying the tech center at a camp I staff at, and we came across what looks to be an IR sensor to a standard 3.5mm audio jack. We didn't know what they were or what they were used for so I brought them home. I was hoping someone on here could tell me how they are used. I managed to find a picture of one online and I have provided it below.

Thanks for reading

I've also seen just standard IR extenders that use that same configuration for other devices. They are pretty common.

Honestly, it's just going to depend on what device you want to use it with. There's plenty of people who make them, and they certainly aren't just for TV tuners.

Linky link.

ok thanks.

I wonder if I could use it to control aspects of my computer. Such as turning music on or off...or something along those lines?
