Hey Guys!!

So I my external hard drive wont recognize on my PC/laptop. So I took it apart and hoping to buy a HDD dock for it and connect it to my computer, but how would I know if the dock supports this hard drive? Nowadays these hard drives dont have pins, its more like a chip kind of thing (if you know what i mean).

This is how it looks like------

Is there a difference between a SATA to IDE adapter and IDE to SATA adapter, or would they work the same way?

and it has a power connector. Is it necessary to have that power connector?

I was thinking of picking up this item at the store

Sabrent USB 2.0 to IDE/SATA Adapter USB-DSC5 - Micro Center

and grab my data of the hard drive, but this product does not how the other end for the power connector.

Please let me know! I need the data off this hard drive I have.

THANKS!
