Yeah I was pondering the possibility of four monitors but 2 is all I "need".

Just a note on the SLI / Crossfire, I thought if I want to use 4 monitors I needed to use the graphics cards independently therefore NOT in crossfire / SLI?

It's a problem I will tackle later on as I think to begin with 2 monitors is plenty.

Yep you're right, SLI can only handle 2 monitors. So.... That means you're gonna have to find a GPU with a possible 4 monitor support.

Or 2 cheap nasty GPUs each that can support 2 monitors and DONT run them in SLI or Crossfire. They should then act independently so I can use 4 monitors.

2 vid cards, working independently of each other, should drive 4 monitors. Should not need 1 super high end card with 4 outputs.
