Going to my friends build, I have another choice to make. Do I put the AMD FX 8120, 6300 or 4300 in his build. He wants to play stuff like Mafia, Day Z, Skyrim and Saints Row. Will he need the 8 core or can he slip by with the quad core? He wants to run a 560 TI so my only concern is a bottleneck. Thanks!

I'd go for the 8120 as its better than the others and it shouldn't cause a bottleneck with the GPU...

But the only thing I'm quesitoning is, isn't that a little overkill? I've never heard of a game utilizing 8 cores

agree with OhSnapWord.
the 8 core is a little overkill. Games mostly don't use more then 4 cores anyway.
The 4 core solution is good enough for his gaming needs
He could also choose the six core if he feel like spending a little extra, but the 8 core is overkill.
