Hi. So i have an i3-3220 processor running at 3.3hgz with stock cooler. im planning on over clocking it but im not sure how high i should go. il be using the gigabyte bios to overclock. How high do you think i can go with using the stock cooler?

So theres no chance. I thought all cpu's were overclockable in some way :( well i guess im gonna have to invest in a overclockable cpu

Intel don't offer unlocked versions of the i3. If you want to overclock then you'd need to get an i5/i7K version..

the base clock (blck) can only be slightly increased. You are not gonna benefit much from increasing the Base clock.

well i may as well wait until i can afford an i7 then

ok well i wont bother then. thanks anyway

Apparently i can overclock it by adjusting the BCLK. But other people dont recommend it. Is it worth a try?

Heck no! Not worth it, too easy to hose the system. OCing the front side buss OC everything hooked to the motherboard.
