Looks like the software will still be on your computer even if it is wiped or the hard drive is replaced. Not sure if it comes with GPS or you have to have it on your computer to enable that function.
Saw an article the other day where there was a laptop stolen a year a and half ago and it was just turned on a couple weeks ago. Police caught it and were able to track it down, but that's a long time to go without knowing your computer is.
