Hey I have been looking in to build my own PC recently, so I made a list of parts that would cost around $2100 to build and I wondered if the list I made was good.




CPU- Intel Core i7-3770K Ivy Bridge 3.5GHz LGA 1155 77W Quad-Core

FAN- Corsair Hydro series H50 High performance liquid cpu cooler

GPU- EVGA 04G-P4-2768-KR GeForce GTX 760 4GB 256-bit GDDR5 PCI Express

PSU- CORSAIR HX Series HX750 750W ATX12V 2.3 / EPS12V 2.91 SLI CR

MOBO- MSI Z87-G45 Gaming LGA 1150 Intel Z87 HDMI SATA 6Gb/s USB 3.0

RAM- CORSAIR Vengeance 16GB (2 x 8GB) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 1600

SDD- Crucial M500 240GB SATA 2.5" 7mm

HDD- Western Digital WD Black WD1002FAEX 1TB 7200 RPM Hard Drive

OS- Windows 7 64 bit

OD- ASUS Black 18X DVD-ROM 48X CD-ROM

CASE- Corsair Obsidian Series 650D

MONITOR- Asus VE248H Black 24" 2ms Full HD HDMI LED Backlight LCD Monitor

KEYBOARD- Razer DeathStalker Expert Gaming Keyboard

MOUSE- Razer DeathAdder 2013 Ergonomic PC Gaming Mouse



I know that this expensive, just tell me if you think it's worth it.
 
yeah you might as well get a CPU from the newest CPU lineup available.
it's not gonna cost you much extra, and the performance and power usage difference is well worth the extra pennys.
 
Also you don't need 16GB for a gaming PC unless you'll be recording and performing other tasks, 8GB would be fine..
 
About the CPU, I should have double checked to see if my motherboard was a 1155 socket, well I'll make sure next time. Also I will change it to the latest lineup even if it cost more.

About the RAM, the reason why I went with 16gb is because it was only $55 more for double the RAM.
 
Wow, I had no idea what I was doing back then did I? I guess not. Funny seeing this thread again, been almost a year. I've learned so much since then. :lol:
