2 GB memory stick not recognized

So I replaced the 1gig stick in my Acer 1 netbook with a 2 gig stick and when I check on the system properties it say that there is on 1 gb installed would anybody know why the 2 gb stick isn't recognized thank you

seams that id doesn't support more memory then that. (which is odd because all netbooks i have seen a spec list for DOES support 2 GB)

It is an Acer Aspire1 KAV 50 ... thank you

Make sure the ram is correctly in place.

that's odd. it should support 2 GB of RAM.. just like any other netbook.
It should also be correctly in place sense it only has 1 RAM port and you are able to boot up.

Try download CPU-Z and check what that says about your RAM. You should have 2GB running.

No. it simply would not boot. (boot = start up)

Yes it does boot I did buy this ram maybe they sent me 1gb stick instead of the 2gig I ordered

that could be it. it should say on the RAM how much capacity it has.
If it says 2 GB. then try download CPU-Z and check.
