When you click the apple icon and then click about this mac, click on the "more info" button that comes up. It should say somewhere towards the top "Mid-2007" or something like that. Unless it's early 2007, you can upgrade to mountain lion.

I purchased a Macbook Pro back in 2007 or 08 with OS Leopard and when Mountain Lion came out I purchased it and have been able to have all current updates at no additional cost.

ok guys and gals i've managed to get it updated to Mountain Lion, i'm posting on it now.

It's my brothers laptop technically but he has no interest in it and has asked if i want to buy it.

I have no idea what kind of price to put on this?

It's a 2.4Ghz Core2Duo 17' MacBook Pro
It has 3Gb of 667mhz RAM
and i think it's a 160Gb HDD

How much do you think it's worth?

Oh i will take off a small amount coz it has a french format keyboard lol
