I'm currently running a copy of Windows 7 Professional that I installed off a disc a friend gave me (their computer is scrap, basically). Unfortunately they lost the activation code somewhere, so I went online and bought an OEM version of Windows thinking I could just use that code....but I got the wrong version - I got mixed up and ordered ultimate instead. This means I can't use the code and (because it's OEM) I can't use anytime upgrade. This means that to install ultimate I would have to format my drive again.
Is there any way to upgrade using an OEM version without formatting?
