Hello all. Looking for some cable modem recommendations. I need a 3.0. My isp recommended I get a modem that has 8X. Dont really know what they mean by that. My broadband speed is something like 20 mbps. I do online gaming and movie streaming. My current motorola sb5101N is pretty much obsolete. Some oofthe modems are pretty expensive and offer data speeds up to like 300 mbps. But since my isp provides only around 20 mbps, would it be a waste to get something like that? Anyways, thanks for whatever you guys can help with.

All DOCSISS 3 modems will support speeds faster than what you're getting so I wouldn't worry to much about that.
Anyways, with the exception of the SB5101U and the SBG901 any modem here should work: Newegg.com - Computer Hardware, Networking, Modems, Motorola
I personally have the SBG6580 and it's been very stable for me.
